3-Day Semuliki National Park Safari Itinerary Uganda

The 3 days Semuliki National Park safari gives you a chance to discover this little-known wilderness. The park is rich with natural wonders, yet it is less spoken about. A walk along the wooden trail to the hot springs, with endless green surroundings, connects you deeply with nature.

The silence is filled with bird calls, sounds of primates, and the heavy steps of large animals. All of these invite you to explore more. Below is the planned itinerary for this safari.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe or Kampala and drive to Semuliki National Park

You will be picked up from Entebbe or Kampala depending on your arrival time. After a short briefing about the safari from your guide, begin the journey to Semuliki National Park. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal, a popular tourism city. Later, continue to the park and check into your lodge before nightfall for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Hot springs visit and game drive

After breakfast, head to the park to explore the famous Sempaya hot springs. There are two hot springs, male and female, both with boiling water that flows from underground at about 90–100 °C. The park’s position along the Great Rift Valley fault lines makes it possible to have such natural features close to the surface. By midday, return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, take a game drive through the Toro-Semuliki reserve savannah. This drive gives you a chance to see wildlife such as forest elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and leopards, among others. The experience takes you until evening, after which you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Kampala with optional crater lakes tour

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala. On the way, you may take short excursions around Fort Portal, such as visiting crater lakes, the Toro Kingdom Palace, Mpanga Market, or the Amabere Ganyinamwiiru caves.

Have lunch along the way before continuing to Kampala, Entebbe Airport, or your final stop. This marks the end of your 3 days Semuliki National Park safari.
