5-Day Kibale, Semuliki & Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

5-Day Kibale, Semuliki & Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

This 5-day safari takes you through three of Uganda’s best destinations. You will see primates, savannah animals, and a wide range of birds. The trip covers Kibale Forest, Semuliki, and Queen Elizabeth National Parks. It reveals Uganda’s hidden natural treasures and shows why the country is called the Pearl of Africa. Below is the day-by-day itinerary.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and drive to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your driver-guide for a short briefing about the safari. Begin the drive to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes you from the city into the countryside, with views of landscapes, farmlands, and savannah plains. Stop along the way for lunch before continuing to the park. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Semuliki

After breakfast, head to the park offices for a pre-trekking briefing about chimpanzee trekking rules. Visitors are divided into groups of 8, each trekking to one chimpanzee community. With a ranger guide, walk into the forest to search for chimpanzees. Once found, spend one hour watching them feed, play, and interact.

After the trek, return to the park offices and meet your driver. Drive back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation, or choose an optional activity nearby. Later in the afternoon, transfer to Semuliki National Park. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.

Day 3: Sempaya hot springs and game drive in Semuliki

After breakfast, visit the Sempaya hot springs, a famous attraction in Semuliki National Park. Watch the hot water bubbling from the earth’s crust and hear stories about the myths linked to the springs. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, go for a game drive in the savannah plains of Semuliki. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, waterbucks, and many other animals. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise

Have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes about 3 hours. On arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This channel is home to hippos and crocodiles and attracts elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and Uganda kobs along the shores. Watch the animals as you enjoy the calm waters and later return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Game drive and return to Kampala

After breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive gives you a chance to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and other wildlife as they hunt or graze in the open plains. The views of the park’s ecosystems add to the experience.

After the game drive, begin your journey back to Kampala. Arrive in the evening, marking the end of your 5-day Kibale, Semuliki, and Queen Elizabeth safari.
