4-Day Semuliki & Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

The 4 days Semuliki and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari gives you a mix of adventure in the Savannah plains and the lowlands that reveal the earth’s crust. Semuliki National Park is known as a birders’ haven with unique bird species and other wildlife.

The two parks are linked by the Rwenzori ranges, which create a natural curtain of scenic beauty.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and drive to Semuliki National Park

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, begin your journey to Semuliki National Park in western Uganda. The drive takes about 6–7 hours with a stop for lunch along the way. You will reach the park in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 2: Morning game drive and Sempaya hot springs

After breakfast, head for a game drive in Toro-Semliki Reserve. This quiet wilderness is often overlooked but is rich in wildlife and ideal for nature lovers. On the drive, you may spot forest elephants, leopards, hippos, antelopes, and warthogs. Primates like vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and mangabeys are also common.

After the game drive, enjoy a bush lunch before going for a guided walk to the Sempaya hot springs. The hot water boils at about 90–100 °C and shoots to the surface through underground cracks. The springs are divided into male and female sites, both worth visiting. This activity gives you a deeper experience of the park’s unique natural features. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, check in at your lodge, have lunch, and later go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is home to large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, and birds. You may also see elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes along the shoreline. The cruise ends with a sunset view before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and departure

Begin your last day with an early breakfast and a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes, as well as hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, waterbucks, and topis. The open landscapes and the backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains add to the beauty of this drive.

After the game drive, start your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will have lunch along the way and later connect to the airport for your departure flight.
